Theatre in the Museum at the Missouri History Museum

The Missouri History Museum in Forest Park continues its popular Theatre in the Museum, which are free one-person plays that bring to life historical characters. Performances are approximately 15 minutes. A brief question and answer period follows.
The Missouri History Museum in Forest Park will offer the following Theatre in the Museum performances during November and December 2008 and early January 2009. All performances are at 2 p.m.
Storytelling in the Galleries at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park

Storytelling in the Galleries at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park is inspired by the artifacts and themes in the museum’s galleries. Designed for children and their families, the docent-led storytelling programs last approximately 45 minutes. (An adult must accompany children.) Storytelling in the Galleries includes a hands-on craft activity.
During November and December, the Missouri History Museum offers Storytelling in the Galleries on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. and Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. Friday storytelling is designed for children ages 2 to 6 while Saturday storytelling is for children 10 and younger. Please note: Storytelling will not be offered on Friday, November 28 and Friday, December 26.
Trains to the Past Festival at the Missouri History Museum

Since the early 1800’s, trains have captured the American imagination. Truly connecting our country coast-to-coast for the first time, trains quickly became the romantic subject of songs and poems, books and movies. With an appeal spanning across all ages and generations, it didn’t take long for the model train to become as popular as its full-sized predecessor. For three weekends this fall, the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park will pay homage to these classic toys with activities and displays that celebrate the railroad.
